FedExForum, Memphis, November 19 – Memphis Grizzlies now have won 4 games in a row. With this victory against the Mavs they continue to prove to the league that this season they are on a different level compared to last year. In the stacked Western Conference, they are becoming the team to beat.
They started the game in the classic Grizzlies way, holding their opponents to only 21 points while scoring 25, in the 2nd quarter both teams were a bit more successful offensively as they scored 28 points each. Grizzlies went to the halftime break with a 4-point lead. On the 3rd quarter Mavericks solidified their defense and conceded 21 points while scoring 25 points for themselves to even the score at the end of the quarter.
On the final period of the game, Dallas got completely obliterated as they couldn’t score more than 14 points in 12 minutes while conceding 24. Grizzlies managed to keep their opponents under 100 points this game, to prove to the rest of the league that they still can play defense.
Mike Conley lead his team with 28 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals, while Marc Gasol also had a great performance with 17 points and 15 rebounds to help his team get a W. DeAndre Jordan had a monstrous game with 17 points and 20 rebounds coming very close to a 20-20 game, the rookie Luka Doncic had a good game with 15 points and 10 rebounds but struggled from the field, hitting only 30% of the shots.
Both teams’ next game is on Wednesday, Grizz visit the Spurs while Dallas hosts the Nets.
